Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac is the latest version of the Microsoft Office suite for the Mac OS X system. It is the successor to Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac and is the equivalent in Mac OS X to the suite for Windows systems Microsoft Office 2010. Microsoft Office 2011 includes more robust business support than previous versions and greater parity with documents edited under Windows systems.
Its interface is now more similar to versions of Office 2007 and Office 2010 for Windows by including the toolbar in ribbon format. The Outlook application returns to the Mac suite written by the Mac OS X Cocoa API for the first time since 2001 and is now fully compatible with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. It also allows integration with Microsoft Communicator for Mac 2011 messaging services Outlook 2011 replaces Entourage, which is included in Office 2004 and Office 2008 for Mac versions. The suite also retrieves the Visual Basic for Applications macros, which were discarded in the 2008 release.
